Meta needed a more structured way to manage retail compliance, fixture deployments and field merchandising activity across a large global store network.
The existing process involved multiple teams, agencies, locations and data inputs, making it difficult to maintain real-time visibility, ensure reporting accuracy and identify recurring issues across markets.
To support this, a centralised retail intelligence platform was developed to bring compliance tracking, survey management, store data, issue reporting, fixture information and analytics into one connected system. This project demonstrates the type of enterprise deployment supported by Merlin Cloud, where operational workflows, retail data and performance insights are connected through a scalable platform.
Meta’s global retail operations required a more reliable way to manage compliance and field activity across thousands of stores.
Before the platform, teams faced challenges around fragmented reporting, manual data handling and limited visibility into store-level performance. Compliance information, issue tracking and survey submissions were difficult to manage consistently across regions, agencies and retail partners.
As the retail footprint expanded, the need for a connected system became more important. Meta required a platform that could support structured governance, improve data quality and give teams a clearer view of what was happening across the retail network.
The challenge was not only to collect data, but to make it accurate, searchable, actionable and useful for decision-making.

The platform was built to support three core objectives:
Improve compliance visibility across stores, regions and retail partners.
Standardise field reporting through structured surveys, policies and issue workflows.
Turn operational data into actionable insights that help teams improve planning, reporting and performance.
A centralised dashboard platform was created to provide real-time visibility across Meta’s retail operations.
The system brings together compliance tracking, store management, policy systems, survey submissions, issue reporting, uploads, audit trails and analytics within a single environment.
Field teams and agencies can submit structured data through survey journeys or bulk uploads, while Meta teams can monitor compliance performance, track issues and analyse activity across locations. The platform also supports role-based access, secure authentication, audit logging and structured data validation to improve governance and accuracy.
This gives Meta a clearer operational view across stores, agencies and regions, helping teams identify issues faster, reduce manual admin and make better decisions from live retail data.

The platform provided Meta with a clearer view of retail activity across its global network.
Real-time dashboards helped teams understand compliance performance, identify recurring issues and track activity by location, region or agency. Structured validation improved data quality and reduced the risk of incomplete or inaccurate submissions.
By centralising survey, fixture and issue data, Meta gained a stronger foundation for operational decision-making. This allowed teams to move from reactive reporting toward a more proactive approach to retail performance and compliance management.
The platform delivered measurable operational improvements across Meta’s retail network.
More than 3,000 stores are now in production worldwide, with over 330 active users across Meta and agency teams. The system has supported 15,000 compliance and installation surveys and captured 495,000 structured survey data points.
Data quality also improved significantly, with a 94.5% reduction in upload errors. This helped reduce manual correction, improve confidence in reporting and support faster decision-making across teams.
By centralising compliance, store activity and field reporting, the platform gave Meta stronger visibility across its global retail estate and created a more scalable foundation for future growth.
The platform also creates a foundation for future automation and intelligence.
As Meta’s retail operations continue to scale, future enhancements could include AI-driven survey forecasting, automated fixture recognition, planogram intelligence, predictive insights and more advanced workflow automation.
These capabilities would allow teams to reduce manual review, identify risks earlier and prioritise actions across stores more effectively.
The Meta Global Retail Intelligence Platform demonstrates how connected data, structured workflows and real-time analytics can transform retail operations at scale.
By bringing compliance tracking, survey management, issue reporting, store visibility and analytics into one platform, Meta gained a more reliable way to manage field operations across thousands of locations.
This project reflects the type of enterprise retail infrastructure supported by Merlin Cloud, where data, workflows and operational visibility are connected to help organisations manage complex physical environments more effectively.
